MDS Keyboard ("the app") is a custom Android keyboard that helps you fix grammar, rewrite tone, translate text, and type faster. This page explains what data the app handles and why.
When you tap Fix, Professional, Friendly, Shorten, Explain, or Translate, the text currently in your input field is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend, which forwards it to an AI provider to generate a result. This text is not stored permanently by our backend; it is used only to produce the response shown back to you.
The app never processes password fields — text typed into a field marked as a password is excluded from this feature entirely.
When you use the microphone key, audio is processed using Android's built-in speech recognition service to convert speech to text. The app itself does not record or store audio.
The app keeps a short local history of text you copy on your device, so you can quickly paste it again from the keyboard. This history is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers.
To suggest words as you type, the app keeps a local, on-device list of words you've typed before. This list never leaves your device.
The app periodically sends an anonymous device identifier and the app's version number to our backend, so we can see how many devices have installed the app and prompt for updates when needed. No personal information, contacts, or typed content is included in this ping.
